Issues Related to Galileo Print Manager.net Configuration
Unable to Save Manually Edited Configuration Files in the Galileo Print Manager.net Application Folder
When you attempt to edit and save a configuration file in the Galileo Print Manager.net application folder (typically located at C:\Program Files (x86), Galileo Print Manager .NET), you might receive a message similar to the following one:
This occurs because files within the "Program Files" and "Program Files (x86)" folders have more stringent User Account Control (UAC) restrictions than most other files.
Resolution: Choose either of the following options to resolve this issue:
- Option 1 — Move the configuration file that you want to edit from the Galileo Print Manager.net application folder to the computer's desktop, edit it, and then move the file back to the Galileo Print Manager.net application folder. For details, see Option 1.
- Option 2 — Run Windows Notepad as Administrator, and then edit and save the file within the Galileo Print Manager.net application folder. For details, see Option 2.

Note: This option uses the GPM_Service.exe.config file as an example.
- Click No on the message shown above to not save the configuration file to the Documents folder.
- Close Windows Notepad (or similar text-editing software). Do not save changes made to the file.

Move the file to the computer's desktop.
The File Access Denied dialog box appears:
- Click Continue.
- Edit and save the file.

Move the file back to the Galileo Print Manager.net application folder.
The Destination Folder Access Denied dialog box appears:

Click Continue.
The system moves the file to the application folder.
Option 2
Note: This option uses the GPM_Service.exe.config file as an example.
- Click No on the message shown near the beginning of this topic to not save to the Documents folder.
- Close Windows Notepad (or similar text-editing software). Do not save changes made to the configuration file.

From the Windows Start Menu, type
Notepad
in the search box. -
Right-click Notepad and select Run as administrator.
The following User Account Control dialog box might appear:
- If the User Account Control dialog box appears, click Yes.

When Notepad opens, select File > Open. Select the Galileo Print Manager.net application folder.

From the drop-down list of options for file type, select All Files.

Double-click the configuration file to edit.

Edit the file.

In the Notepad window, select File > Save.

Exit Notepad.
